Sad news on the main site of David's recent death. He was a classy defender. Not the sturdiest of build, but more than made up for this with his ball skill and ability to read a game. His ability to accurately pass a long ball was second to none.
Thanks for the many pleasant days enjoying your many good performances Son.

Rovers answer to Alan Hansen according to my cousin Les. Did a good job at the back with Elvis. Used to have Blacks newsagent on St Clair St at Sinclairtown station.

My first ever match was in 1979 at home against Ayr. A 2-0 win. I always wanted to find out the squad for that day. Wonder if David played that day and, although I can’t recall it, I have heard he was a great player. RIP
